Turleybird Gardens • 2008

While beginning a website redesign for artist Mary Anne Turley-Emett, my wife Patti became the catalyst in shifting all attention to a completely different project – designing and building a raised bed organic vegetable and fruit garden for the Emett family.

Outdoors is how I spent the summer of 2008.

Janie Malloy designed the garden, and I assisted with engineering, project supervision, design & fabrication, and construction.  Patti also assisted with construction and is now the house gardener and special events chef for its owners.

"How I spent my summer..." was a terrific Earth Mothers-like experience (see below).  A wonderful concept realized by a dedicated, enthusiastic team.

Earth Mothers • Chicago's Freshest Organic Café & Juice Bar

It was a simple concept: serve Healthy Home Style™ cuisine for breakfast and lunch using the finest organic ingredients. Located in Chicago's River North neighborhood, Earth Mothers was open from 2003 until July '04.
